To qualify, eligible applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a Milpitas homeowner with an existing turf lawn that is 500 contiguous square feet and visible to others (ex: front yard).*

  • Agree to maintain the converted garden in healthy condition.

*Due to the drought, it's okay if you have stopped watering, as long as the turf is still present. This area cannot include part of the yard that is not grass (i.e. shrubs, other ground cover, etc.)


Terms and Conditions

  • Approved projects cannot participate or apply for Valley Water’s Landscape Conversion Rebate Program.

  • Converted projects will not include irrigation, and all plantings will require hand watering for ongoing maintenance.
